Pike project

The Queensway Bay groundbreaking ceremony, in reality, was a heartbreaking ceremony. The true heartbreak is the loss of four more acres of Shoreline Park. Instead of a lovely park open and free to the public, we may look out at an ugly restaurant mall. It will not only be heartbreaking but bank-breaking for the existing Pine Avenue restaurants.

The taxpayers will be responsible for the bond payments on the $43 million parking garage and are heartbroken that this fraud has gone on for so long.

But the biggest heartbreak of all is that if this land swap is permitted, it will have a devastating effect on our vulnerable California coastline. We will have many more irresponsible land swaps to look forward to. Future generations will be heartbroken when they see their beaches swapped away for private development.
